” And at three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”). When some of those standing near heard this, they said, “Listen, he is calling Elijah.” Someone ran, filled a sponge with wine vinegar, put it on a staff, and offered it to Jesus to drink. “Now leave him alone. Let us see if Elijah comes to take him down,” he said. With a loud cry, Jesus breathed his last..”

We welcome you to our joint Good Friday service, in-person or online. We hope that how ever you worship, you feel that you are a part of our community of faith. When we gather we become the body of Christ and can work together to offer hope to those in need of it the most. As a community we care for each other and are stronger with the Spirit directing us all.

Good Friday is a somber occasion. On the surface it is a day of mourning and reflection –  to remember the great sacrifice that Jesus made for all of humanity. Ultimately, however, it is a time to remember and celebrate the power of God’s love and the promise of eternal life. Thus, Good Friday is also a day of hope and new beginnings.
