Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit. This is the third week of Advent and as we light the candle of Joy we will look at the ‘readiness’ aspect of Advent that we sometimes miss. The pre-Christmas run-up is hectic for so many and we often forget the reason we are celebrating. Advent gives us the time to step away from the ‘Real World’ and get ourselves ready for the work that is before us. That work is sharing the Good News of Christ’s arrival and what it will mean to those who don’t already know him.
