Sing praises to the Lord, O you his faithful ones,
and give thanks to his holy name.
For his anger is but for a moment;
his favour is for a lifetime.
Weeping may linger for the night,
but joy comes with the morning.
and praise you in the council of the elders.”
   ~Psalm 30:4-5

This week we think about transformation. Each of us has a name by which we are known. A name is more than just a word. It is intricately woven into our personal, cultural and ancestral identity. Sometimes, however, we get tagged with a nickname – not always flattering – which becomes the name by which people know us, instead of our given or chosen, name. When Jesus becomes part of our life, we are often a changed person inside an existing body. That transformation can be what makes a difference to the world we are part of, if we let it happen for God.
